Mars is trusted by 35,000 businesses worldwide to deliver more than a billion drinks each year. Our KLIX® drinks machines dispense a variety of hot and cold drinks and soups (including both Mars brands and third party brands). FLAVIA®, our single-serve drinks system, has been satisfying the individual needs and tastes of coffee and tea drinkers for more than 25 years. In 2010, we launched our ALTERRA® and BRIGHT TEA COMPANY® brands in FLAVIA® machines in North America and we are now rolling out these new brands globally.

We are following the strategy of information, renovation and innovation for all our Mars Drinks products.

Information

We provide clear and accessible information about our product ingredients so that customers can make informed choices. In 2010, we re-launched our KLIX® website to include Guideline Daily Amount (GDA) information for the first time. It also provides information to help vegetarians identify products that fit their dietary needs.

Renovation

We are, where appropriate, renovating the drinks products we offer through our KLIX® system to remove artificial trans fats by eliminating partially hydrogenated vegetable oil. This work should be complete by the end of 2011.

Mars Drinks also promotes health and nutrition by working collaboratively with our suppliers. For example, we have agreed to a clear strategy with them for the reduction of sodium in the non-Mars branded soups we offer in our KLIX® machines.

Innovation

We are looking at how we can bring consumers greater choices and healthier options. Most of our products are relatively low in calories, even our hot chocolate drinks, DOVE® and GALAXY® (80 kcal and 66 kcal per drink, respectively). THE BRIGHT TEA COMPANY® brand use only natural flavors.

We also offer a choice of decaffeinated and zero-calorie drinks that help promote good hydration and enable consumers to manage their caffeine and caloric intake, if they so wish.
